Senior Manager, Creative Operations - Visual Merchandising

Job Responsibilities

As a part of the in-house creative studio, this position is responsible for working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations and external vendors to manage the creative design process of Visual Merchandising projects. Balancing creative thinking with interpersonal and organizational skills, this position manages Visual Merchandising projects from creative concept through to final delivery.

  • Thorough understanding of Print Buying and fabrication requirements.
  • Ability to source and onboard new vendors for specific project needs.
  • Fanatical about continuous improvement; experienced in the development and adoption of processes and procedures for optimum operational efficiency.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects on time while maintaining high quality standard, on time and on budget.
  • Exceptional data tracking, gathering, reporting and analytical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the project management of Visual Merchandising programs.
  • Coordinate efforts with Buying, MP&A and Store Operations teams.
  • Support the Visual Merchandising Creative team by ensuring that briefs are complete and contain quality content and that Brand & Visual Merchandising guidelines are executed consistently.
  • Project manage the creative design and production process for Visual Merchandising projects; facilitating kick-off meetings with cross-functional partners, scheduling and managing projects through the in-house Creative Studio.
  • Partner with Sr. Manager, Visual Merchandising Communications on developing and ensuring the adherence to policies, guidelines and requirements.
  • Provide manager with regular updates including, but not limited to, Creative KPIs, project/campaign status and financial tracking.
  • Source and onboard new vendors and train them in PetSmart processes, standards and requirements.
  • Stakeholder in RFP and vendor selection process.
  • Manage external vendors including negotiations, timelines, quality standards and final deliverables.
  • Facilitate invoice approval process.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and proactively develop and implement workflow processes and procedures for optimum operational efficiency.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • 5+ years experience in project/program management of creative design projects.
  • Proven experience managing multiple ongoing projects with hard deadlines and cross-functional impact.
  • Experience in an in-house Creative Studio or Agency preferred.
  • Printing and fabrication industry experience a plus.
  • Instore Retail experience a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Workfront with Administrator experience required.
  • Solid Excel, Word and Outlook skills required.
  • Adobe design programs knowledge a plus.
