About the Team:

The Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They work to provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 5 departments including, Marketing, Creative, Digital, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team. Everyone brings his or her own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents.

About the Job:

Digital Asset Manager

Job Summary:

The Digital Asset Manager (DAM) develops, oversees and manages Digital Asset Management processes and procedures and manages the Web Asset Manager (WAM).

Responsible for leading the collaborative collection, selection, quality, organization, maintenance, enhancement, preservation, delivery and archiving of digital assets including brand photography, product photography, vendor photography, 3D renderings, graphic design elements, creative toolkits and fonts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage workflows for gathering, storing, organizing, sharing and optimizing digital assets amongst all internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Establish and manage policies and procedures for digital asset preservation, taxonomies, filing, usage rights and metadata standards.
  • Establish and execute relevant naming conventions, metadata (key word search terms), and assortment & collection relationships.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain accurate lifecycle stages of assets including archiving and purging.
  • Develop and execute security measures to ensure the confidential nature of new brand launches.
  • Research and make recommendations on emerging standards and best practices in digital asset management including preservation, metadata, and rights management.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to optimize user experience of DAM tool (Cumulus) and to ensure consistent use of creative assets.
  • Work with Cumulus System Administrator in the IT Department to influence and recommend system design and architecture.
  • Create and maintain Digital Asset Management manual, documentation and user guides.
  • Purchase fonts, negotiate terms and maintain agreements.
  • Manage and develop the Web Asset Manager (WAM); unlocking their full potential.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated success working with Digital Asset Management solutions and workflows in a complex corporate environment.
  • Experience with Cumulus, or another DAM system required.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital asset management standards and best practices for asset preparation, metadata creation and application and the access, delivery, storage and preservation of assets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of software and copyright laws.
  • Proven success in the ability to work cross-functionally; able to work equally well with people in business, creative, and technical positions.
  • Excellent written communicator; able to write training materials, usage and guidelines documents, and DAM and WAM standard-operating-procedure manuals.
  • Excellent verbal communicator with great interpersonal skills; able to educate and influence others to gain the adoption of processes and procedures.
  • Sound judgment and strong independent problem-solving skills.
  • Solid technical background, experienced in managing technical projects and/or hands-on technical experience
  • Ability to manage and develop team members and unlock each person’s full potential.

Experience and Education:

  • 5+ years of experience working in digital asset management required.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail advertising/brand management environment preferred.
  • 2+ years of people management experience required.
  • Experience with Cumulus, or another DAM system required.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) required.
  • Experience with Scene7 preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science preferred.
