STORE MANAGEMENT CAREERS
The store management team at PetSmart includes a number of managers, with specific tasks, working together to increase store sales, provide an exceptional Customer experience and a great working atmosphere for our associates. Store Manager
As the Store Manager of a fast-paced and fun environment, you'll be managing 3-5 department managers and over seeing 25-30 hourly associates. You'll be responsible for setting a clear vision for your team, providing leadership that will ensure excellent Customer Service and developing high morale.
Operations Manager
As the Assistant Store Manager (Operations Manager), your primary focus will be on the associates within the store. You'll be responsible for completing the hiring process and ensuring all associates are trained and developed. You'll also work with the management team to make sure the store is properly stocked and maintained. This position reports directly to the Store Manager.
Presentation Manager
As the Department Manager (Presentation Manager), your primary responsibility will be the overall appearance of the store. You'll make sure product is on the floor in a timely manner. You'll also work with the entire management team to make sure associates are properly trained and developed. This position reports directly to the Assistant Store Manager (Operations Manager).
Pet Care Manager
As the Pet Care Manager, your primary responsibility will be the health and safety of the pets in our care. You'll coordinate all daily activities within the Pet Care Department. This position reports directly to the Store Manager.
Pet Products Manager
As the Pet Products Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that product is displayed and available for the Customer. You'll coordinate the merchandising functions of the store. This position reports directly to the Department Manager (Presentation Manager).

Cashier
The cashier plays an integral role in providing a great Customer experience. Qualified candidates will:
- understand the layout of the store and the merchandise we sell
- answer phones and ring up purchases
- provide excellent Customer Service
- be accurate and comfortable with math and currency
- sell our services to our Customers
Pet Products Associate
The Pet Products Associate is essential in getting merchandise out on the floor and available for our Customers. Qualified candidates will:
- be required to operate a forklift
- be able to accurately stock merchandise while also helping Customers
- assist Customers to their vehicles with purchases
- understand the layout of the store and the merchandise we sell
- sell our services to our Customers
Pet Care Associate
The Pet Care Associate works in our Specialty department and will assist Customers with fish, birds, reptiles and small furry pets. Qualified candidates will:
- become technically knowledgeable on all species (fish, small pet, reptiles and birds)
- be comfortable caring for the pets in our store: cleaning fish tanks, reptile habitats, small pet and bird cages as well as watering and feeding
- be required to handle pets
- our services to our Customers

All positions require a strong connection with pets and their well-being. Interacting with dogs, cats and other pets is part of our culture and the PetSmart experience. All positions can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting and standing for long periods of time. Candidates must be flexible in working evenings, weekends. And working on holidays is part of the job requirement.
